Abstract
Vitex trifolia (V. trifolia), a type of shrub, has been traditionally utilized as a massage oil to address various health issues, especially for its pain-relieving effects. Although it has a rich history of use, there is still a lack of research on its antioxidant and biological properties, which are essential for validating its traditional uses. This study aimed to investigate the antioxidant capabilities of a crude leaf extract from V. trifolia using DPPH and ABTS radical-scavenging tests. Petroleum ether was used as the non-polar solvent, whereas methanol was employed as the polar solvent during extraction. The results showed that the methanol extract exhibited the most significant radical scavenging activities for DPPH and ABTS, with percentages of 80.7 and 57.3%, respectively.

Abstract
Tukhm-e-Sambhalu (Vitex negundo Linn.), traditionally recognized in Unani medicine as the Five-Leaved Chaste Tree, holds a prominent place due to its diverse therapeutic efficacy. Employed classically for its analgesic (Musakkin), anti-inflammatory (Muhallil), and nervine tonic (Muqawwi-e-A’sab) attributes, this plant has attracted modern pharmacological interest. Recent studies have highlighted its antioxidant, phytoestrogenic, and anxiolytic potentials. This paper explores the synergy between Unani principles and scientific research, particularly emphasizing its applications in gynecological, neurological, and inflammatory conditions.

Keywords: Tukhm-e-Sambhalu, Vitex negundo, Musakkin, Muqawwi-e-A’sab, Unani medicine, phytoestrogen, inflammation, menopause, anxiolytic, etc……..
